How to care for newly bought Verbena

How to care for newly bought Verbena

1. How to grow the newly bought Verbena

Verbena is suitable for maintenance in a warm, humid and well-lit environment, but when you just buy it, you cannot put it directly under strong light for maintenance. It needs to be placed in an environment with scattered light and the temperature maintained at around 25℃ for maintenance. Since the growth rate is relatively slow at this time, there is no need to water too much. Just keep the soil in the pot moist. Fertilization also needs to be suspended. Wait until the normal growth state is restored before resuming normal fertilization and watering.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Temperature: It likes a warm environment. When you first buy it, it is best to keep it in an environment with a temperature of about 25°C, so that it can better adapt to the new environment. Its optimal growth temperature is 15℃-25℃, and the minimum temperature must not be lower than 4℃, otherwise the plant will become dormant or even die.

2. Watering: It likes a humid environment, but you need to control the water appropriately when you just buy it. Water it according to the principle of "water when dry and water when wet", and water it thoroughly as soon as the soil surface turns white. In spring, you can water it twice a week. In summer, you need to water it as soon as the soil is dry, but keep the soil in the pot moist but not waterlogged. In autumn, just keep the potting soil moist, and in winter, just keep the potting soil moist.

3. Light: It likes light, but cannot be exposed to strong light for a long time. It can be placed in a well-ventilated place with soft light for maintenance. When the sunlight is strong in summer, it can be placed in a semi-shaded environment for maintenance. In winter, you can place it on the balcony or in a place with scattered light for maintenance.

4. Fertilization: It likes fertilizer, so you need to stop fertilizing when you just buy it. Its fertilization principle should follow the principle of "thin fertilizer, frequent application, and complete nutrition". During the growing period, you can apply liquid fertilizer with a balanced nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content, and use phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering. When applying the fertilizer solution, pour it along the edge of the flower pot and do not pour it directly on the roots, which can easily cause hypertrophy. It is also important to note that do not water or spray water on the leaves at night after fertilizing, and try to keep the leaves of the green plants dry.
