How to eat carambola

Direct raw food

After washing the carambola, use a knife to scrape off its hard edges, and then cut it into thin star-shaped slices and you can eat it. If you feel that the star fruit is too astringent or too sour, you can dip it in some brown sugar to improve its taste.

Starfruit Tea

Prepare the ingredients in advance, 1-2 star fruits, appropriate amount of sugar and black tea. Peel off the hard edges of the star fruit and cut it into star-shaped slices. Then add sugar and marinate. Seal it and wait for about a week. Add sugar according to personal preference. For the pickled carambola slices, add water to the original juice and boil it, then dry it and set aside. Soak black tea in water and add 4-5 slices of star fruit. This will produce a unique and rich aroma.

Candied Carambola

The candied carambola is not only delicious, but also pleasing to the eye in appearance. The cute and unique star shape is wrapped with a layer of candied crispy paste, which looks particularly transparent. So, how do you make such a side dish? First, prepare 2 star fruits, 1 cup of flour, 5 spoons of sugar and 2 spoons of carambolas. First wash the carambolas, remove the hard edges, and cut them into thick pieces. Then add about 3/4 cup of water to the flour and stir it evenly into a crispy paste, then put the thick pieces of star fruit into it. After taking out the carambola slices covered with the crispy paste, fry them in hot oil until golden and crispy, then remove from the oil and drain. Use a little oil and slow fire to cook sugar, caramel and half a cup of water until it becomes thick and almost gelatinous. Then turn off the heat. Finally, add the fried crispy carambola into the syrup and mix well. The candied carambola is ready.
