Is bicolor jasmine poisonous? Can it be kept at home?

Is bicolor jasmine poisonous?

Bicolor jasmine is a perennial evergreen shrub and an excellent flower that is widely cultivated outdoors in summer and indoors in winter in North China. The flowers of bicolor jasmine are usually solitary or densely grown. The flowers are dark blue when they first bloom, then turn light purple, and finally turn white. The flowers have a sweet and rich fragrance and can be planted in gardens or as potted plants for viewing. Because bicolor jasmine is highly ornamental, easy to cultivate and reproduce, it is often used by people to beautify and decorate balconies, courtyards, corridors, etc., making it fresh and refined.

From the above information, it can be seen that the fragrance of Bicolor Jasmine is non-toxic and the flower plants are harmless to touch.

But some studies have shown that the stems, leaves and root bark of bicolor jasmine are poisonous. Experiments have also shown that if livestock accidentally eat too much, they will suffer from symptoms such as limb weakness, drooling, irregular heartbeat, tremors, and slowed breathing.

Can bicolor jasmine be kept at home?

Although some information shows this, flower lovers do not need to worry too much. In fact, many flowers and plants are poisonous. As long as you learn more about them before planting them and grasp their properties, they can be cultivated at home. Of course, there is one more thing we must pay attention to, that is, no matter whether the flowers and plants are poisonous or not, do not taste them!

From the above, we can see that although the bicolor jasmine plant is poisonous, it is completely fine if it is only used for viewing and smelling the fragrance of the flowers indoors, and it can be raised at home.
