The cosmos plant is tall but its leaves are elegant, and the flower colors are very rich, including red, white, pink, purple, etc. The charming cosmos is a lovely autumn scenery. It has a wild charm, and the double-petaled varieties can be used as cut flowers. They are often used to arrange flower mirrors and are planted in patches as backgrounds on the edges of lawns, around bushes, and on both sides of roads.

Cosmos can also be planted along fences, cliff slopes, beside houses and in tree altars for viewing or arrangement into garden art.

The medical value of Cosmos

From a medical perspective, Cosmos has another name called dysentery grass. Both the flowers and leaves of Cosmos can be used as medicine, with a slightly bitter and pungent taste and a cool nature. It has the effects of clearing away heat and resolving phlegm, removing blood stasis and promoting regeneration, replenishing blood and dredge menstruation. It is mainly used to treat colds, coughs, mastitis, mumps, toothache, eye pain and other diseases.

Cosmos can be taken orally or applied externally. Take 1 to 2 liang of the whole herb, put it into water and boil it for internal use. It is mainly used to treat dysentery and red and swollen eyes. Take fresh whole-plant cosmos, add brown sugar, mash it and apply it externally to treat carbuncle swelling and pain.
