How to revive weak orchid seedlings and how to water them

How to revive weak orchid seedlings and how to water them

1. Rejuvenation Methods

1. Remove from the pot and prune: If you want the weak orchid seedlings to grow strong, you must first remove them from the pot and cut off the unnecessary parts with scissors. The so-called unnecessary parts are the rotten roots and dead leaves. These parts will consume the nutrients in the plant, causing it to fail to grow successfully. If you cut off a lot of roots, you also need to cut off some leaves extra to reduce the rate of water evaporation and thus reduce the burden on the roots. After cutting, place it in a ventilated place to dry the cut ends.

2. Potting and cleaning: After pruning, weak seedlings need to be replanted with new planting materials. The planting material should contain orchid bacteria, have high permeability and a certain moisturizing ability. This will help it grow better. After planting, place it in a warm place with a temperature of about 20℃ for maintenance. During this period, maintain ventilation, provide appropriate shade and suspend fertilization. After a period of time, when its root system is slightly more developed, apply appropriate fertilizer.

2. Watering method

During the orchid rejuvenation period, the frequency and amount of watering must be strictly controlled. It is best to wait until the planting material has dried out before watering. Each time you water, make sure the planting material is completely irrigated, but do not allow water to accumulate in the planting material. When watering, use clean water. It is best to use purified water. If not, you can use tap water that has been left out for 1-2 days.
