How to obtain materials for water-grown plants

Water cutting method

A method of cutting cuttings into a certain length and directly inserting them into water to promote rooting.

1. Carry out in spring and autumn, and choose varieties that are easy to root and take shape quickly.

2. Cut the parts above the roots or branches that are well-nourished and growing healthily, and make an oblique cut 0.2-0.5 cm below the node.

3. Insert into water to induce rooting. After planting the cuttings in water, be sure to change the water frequently, and keep the incision, water quality, and container clean.

4. When the new roots grow to 1-2 cm, transfer them to nutrient solution for cultivation.

Division method

Separate the clustered plants with their roots, or cut off the creeping branches and suckers of the flowers and grow them in water.

Remove from the pot and wash the roots

Select the formed potted plants, rinse the root substrate with water after removing them from the pots, and then use the hydroponic method.

1. First, remove the soil from the flowers grown in soil.

2. Prune the root system.

3. Rinse the soil or other substrate around the roots.

4. Wash the roots of the plant, put them in a clean container, use clean water to maintain them, and place them in a hidden environment. Spray water on the plants and the surrounding environment frequently. It is best to change the water every 1-2 days until new roots grow and then switch to normal maintenance and management.
