Can catnip be grown hydroponically?

Catharanthus is a succulent plant, so hydroponics is generally not a problem. Let’s take a look at the specific methods below!

Prepare the Materials

Tap water, glass bottles, compound fertilizer

Method 1

This method is definitely suitable for lazy people. You can successfully cultivate the perfume plant in just a few simple steps.

Fill 2/3 of water in a glass bottle and insert the cut branches into the water. (That’s basically all there is to it)

Place the glass bottle on an open balcony. There is no need to block the light. Just let it grow naturally and change the water every 3 to 4 days.

After the branches have grown roots, throw a few grains of compound fertilizer into the water. Do not change the water for a while after fertilizing. After a month, change the water.

Method 2

Compared with the previous method, this method is relatively complicated.

Choose a sturdy catnip and take branches. Or you can use branches that have grown too long and have been cut off.

Put the tap water in the bottle to air 1 to 2 days in advance to allow the impurities in the tap water to settle.

Place the petunia branches into the water, leaving 1 to 2 nodes exposed above the water surface.

Place it in the sun, change the water once a week, and do not fertilize. It took only a few days for the plant to take root and you can continue to maintain it as usual. Always observe the growth of branches and remove branches that have not taken root in time.
