Making and maintaining fragrant wood bonsai

Making of Bonsai

After the fragrant wood plants to be cultivated are selected, preliminary pruning can be carried out to remove crossed branches, overlapping branches, diseased and insect-infested branches, and overgrown branches. Then choose a purple clay pot as the container for the bonsai because of its good permeability. Put it in a pot and cover it with soil. It is best to use fertile sandy soil that is rich in humus and has good drainage. You can mix peat soil and perlite to make nutrient soil, then compact it and water it. Then put it in a well-lit and ventilated place for maintenance.

Bonsai Maintenance

illumination

Fragrant wood likes light, and it is important to be bathed in sunlight, but do not expose it to the sun for a long time. The strong direct sunlight in summer may burn the leaves. In fact, the fragrant wood is somewhat shade-tolerant, so it is okay not to be exposed to the sun for a few days.

Moisture

Do not water the fragrant wood too frequently, and it is best not to allow water to accumulate, otherwise excessive water may cause root rot. Generally, water it once every 3-5 days, and remember to water it thoroughly. The soil needs to be kept moist in spring and summer, but in autumn and winter, the principle of keeping the soil moist should be followed.

temperature

Fragrant wood likes warm environment and is afraid of severe cold. The most suitable temperature for its growth is 20℃-30℃. It should be kept indoors in winter and the temperature should be kept above 5℃ so that it can safely overwinter.

fertilizer

It is best not to apply fertilizer when the seedlings are young. The fragrant wood is very sensitive to fertilizer. Except for 1-2 times of water and fertilizer per month during the vigorous growth season from May to September, try to reduce or not apply fertilizer in other seasons. In order to maintain the good ornamental effect of bonsai, do not use nitrogen fertilizer.

ventilation

When caring for the fragrant wood, you must pay attention to ventilation, but the connection points of its leaves are relatively fragile, so avoid being blown by strong winds, otherwise it will easily cause leaves to fall.

This is the introduction to the production and maintenance of fragrant wood bonsai. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.
