Cherry radish, crisp and tender

Spring is a very suitable time to grow cherry radishes on the balcony. They are crispy and tender, nutritious, and look like cherries, bright red. If you plant them now, you can harvest a bunch of cherry radishes in 20-30 days.

1. Buy seeds

Huahua bought the seeds online, they were very cheap, only 1 yuan with free shipping.

2. Sprinkle the seeds in the soil

Put a mixture of garden soil and leaf mold into the flowerpot. You can add some rotted chicken manure. Use a wooden stick to make 1 cm deep strips in the soil, sprinkle the seeds in, cover with soil, and finally water it thoroughly.

3. Covering film

The suitable temperature for cherry radish seeds to germinate is about 15 degrees. You can cover the surface of the pot with a transparent plastic film to keep it warm. Keep the soil moist during germination.

4. Germination after 2-3 days

Cherry radish sprouts very quickly, usually in 2-3 days. After sprouting, you can put it in a sunny place to allow the seedlings to photosynthesize and speed up their growth.

5. Comb the seedlings after 7 days

After 7 days, the seedlings will grow 4-5 leaves. In order to allow the cherry radish to have enough space to grow, the extra seedlings can be pulled out and planted in other pots, keeping 5 cm between each remaining seedling.

6. Drink enough water

During the growth period of the seedlings, as long as the soil is dry, water them in time to prevent the grown cherry radishes from becoming curved in shape and hard in taste.

7. Apply liquid fertilizer every 10 days

When the seedlings grow 2-3 leaves, water them with some decomposed cake fertilizer or fruit peel fertilizer every 10 days, being careful not to water the leaves. The roots of the seedlings will soon bulge out of the soil, and they are the radishes.

8. Harvest after 20-30 days

It usually only takes 20-30 days from planting to the maturity of cherry radish. You can use a small shovel to dig out the cherry radish, wash it with water and you can eat it. It is especially refreshing! Don’t harvest them too late, as the radishes will crack if they stay in the soil for too long.

Lettuce, full of vitamins

Huahua loves eating lettuce very much. She feels so happy every time she eats the fresh lettuce that she grows herself. It is very easy to grow lettuce and it will grow in 2 weeks. Huahua often shares the lettuce with her neighbors!

1. Sprinkle the seeds in the soil

Choose a flower pot with drainage holes at the bottom, then fill it with loose and fertile soil, sow the lettuce seeds in the soil, sprinkle a thin layer of soil on top, and water it thoroughly.

2. Germination after 2 days

Lettuce seeds germinate very quickly and seedlings can grow in 2 days. Place them in a well-lit and ventilated place and keep the soil moist.

3. Comb the seedlings

When the seedlings grow new leaves, you can thin them out, leaving 10-20 cm between each seedling. If they are too dense, it will affect their growth.

4. Proper sunshade

If the temperature is very high and the sun is very strong at noon, you can shade the lettuce or move it to a semi-shaded place to prevent it from wilting. Lettuce is not particularly heat-resistant.

5. After 2 weeks, pick the leaves

When the lettuce leaves grow to 10 cm high, you can pick the outer leaves and eat them. You can eat them cold or put them in noodles. They taste very delicious.

Leeks, you can’t finish eating them all

Huahua loves to eat scrambled eggs with leeks, and it seems like she can never get enough of it in her lifetime. Especially the leeks in spring, which are not only very delicious, but also can beautify your skin. Cook some leek seafood soup, and your face will be rosy after drinking it!

1. Buy chive seeds

Flower lovers can buy chive seeds online or in seed stores.

2. Germination

First soak the leek seeds in warm water at 40 degrees, take them out after 12 hours, wrap them with wet toilet paper, put them in a sealed bag, and place them on a heat-dissipating router or TV set-top box to germinate. They will usually germinate after 5 days.

3. Plant in the soil

Put decomposed chicken manure or cake fertilizer at the bottom of the flowerpot, then pour in soil and plant the germinated leek seeds. Don't plant too deep, just cover with 1 cm of soil, water thoroughly, and place in a sunny and ventilated place.

4. Chives will grow after 7-14 days

After about 7-14 days, young green chive seedlings will grow.

5. Transplant 10 leeks into a pot

When the leeks grow to 10 cm and have 8 leaves, you can pull them out with the soil, then plant 10 leeks as a whole plant in the soil and cut off 5 cm of leaves.

6. Chives grow quickly and you can’t finish eating them all

During the growth period of leeks, they should be placed in a sunny and well-ventilated place. Water them in time when the soil is dry. Add some eggshell powder and bone meal to the soil every month to make the leeks grow green, fat and tender!
