What kind of soil can be used for growing vegetables on the balcony

Soilless cultivation

In short, soilless cultivation is a technology that uses substrates including rock wool, peat, vermiculite, perlite, bark, sawdust, water, etc., and applies nutrient solution to cultivate plants without using soil. Plants grown in soilless cultivation grow fast, have relatively high yields, are of good quality, are clean, have few diseases and pests, and are easy to manage.

Leaf mold

Leaf mold is made by the accumulation and fermentation of fallen leaves, dead grass and other materials. When using, you can mix the leaf mold with garden soil, sifte, pick, dry and then store it for later use. Leaf mold is rich in humus, has good fertilizer retention and drainage, and is light and loose in texture.

Coconut Brick

When using, first place the coconut husk bricks in a basin or bucket, and pour in enough clean water until the coconut bricks no longer absorb water. Pour out the excess water, put the soaked coconut soil into the planting container, crush the coconut soil and mix it with earthworm castings, and apply a small amount of organic compound fertilizer in the soil as base fertilizer. After sowing the vegetable seeds on the surface, cover them shallowly with soil. Before germination, just keep the soil moist and do not water too much.

Garden Soil

Garden soil is the soil used for planting in vegetable gardens or nurseries. It is relatively fertile and can be used after being disinfected.

Peat soil

It is best to mix peat soil with perlite or vermiculite. These substrates can increase the looseness of the soil and beautify the soil.

pond scum

Pond mud is rich in fertilizer and has good drainage. It is best to dry the pond mud after digging it out and break it into thin pieces before use.
