How to water the bitter water rose

Before leaf expansion

The first formal watering should be done before they unfold their leaves, as they need water more at this time. The timing can be determined according to different regions, starting around mid-April, which can promote germination and root growth during this period. However, you must not water them in large quantities just because you want them to grow well, as this will exceed their water absorption capacity and cause water to accumulate instead of being absorbed. This will have a great impact on root development, and if not handled properly it may cause root rot.

Before flowering

The second formal watering is carried out before flowering, so this watering is also called pre-flowering water, but it cannot be too early. It should be done after the roots begin to move. The purpose of this watering is very clear, which is to ensure that the roses have sufficient water during flowering and to improve their quality. According to practical experience, if water is applied well before flowering, the flowers can bloom 15%-20% more. Therefore, we must not only grasp the time, but also control the quantity. However, not every place has the conditions to water at this time. Flower lovers who do not have this condition can choose to use a water cellar to store water.

After flowering

The watering is basically done in late June. This is because a large amount of water will be used for flowering during this period, while a lot of water is lost from other parts, so watering is necessary. Doing this can also ensure the differentiation of flower buds next year, so that the flowers will grow better next year.

Precautions

After each watering, you must loosen the soil so that the water can enter deeper into the soil instead of just staying on the surface, preventing it from being lost due to evaporation.
