How long does it take for the Brazilian wood to grow roots?

The Chinese name of the Brazilian wood is Dracaena fragrans. It is an evergreen tree or shrub of the Asparagaceae family and the Dracaena genus. It is a very common and important variety of indoor green plants.

The Brazilian wood symbolizes steadfastness, longevity, wealth, good luck and fortune. It is said to bring good luck to people like a four-leaf clover, so it is also called "lucky wood".

The temperature in most parts of China in summer and early autumn is very suitable for the growth of rubber trees. At this time, if you plant a piece of rubber tree, it will take root in 30 to 40 days, and the survival rate is relatively high.

If you plant the rubber tree in late autumn, winter or early spring, due to the low temperature and low air humidity, it is very likely that it will take a long time for it to take root and sprout, and eventually the whole plant will wither and turn into real rotten wood.

How to quickly soak the Brazilian wood to make it root and then grow leaves

If the rubber tree you bought is grown in soil, it already has a root system, has adapted to the environment at home, and has started to grow new leaves. Then you can apply fertilizer thinly and regularly.

The fertilizer is mainly compound fertilizer, and a little nitrogen fertilizer can be applied during the growing season. If the Brazilian wood you bought is just a piece of wood, it has no roots or sprouts.

If you want to grow water, wait until the plant sprouts, leaves and roots before applying fertilizer. Some flower lovers rush to fertilize the Brazilian wood as soon as it sprouts, but before it grows roots. This can easily cause fertilizer damage, causing the newly sprouted shoots to turn black or dry up, and the entire plant to die.

According to the condition of the leaves, the rubber tree can be divided into two types. One has pure green leaves, and the other has leaves with yellow stripes, called variegated rubber tree.

If the leaves of the rubber tree you grow have no stripes and are pure green, applying a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer during the growing season can make the leaves greener and more shiny.

If the leaves of your Brazilian wood have yellow stripes, try not to apply nitrogen fertilizer, and use compound fertilizer as the main fertilizer. Applying nitrogen fertilizer can easily cause the yellow stripes to fade and shrink, and the ornamental value will deteriorate.

If your rubber tree originally had yellow stripes, and the stripes gradually became less obvious or disappeared, apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, control watering appropriately, and expose it to more direct sunlight.

Does the hydroponic Brazilian wood need to be transplanted into a pot after it takes root?

As long as the temperature is right, the hydroponic rubber tree can take root and sprout in 30 to 40 days. After taking root, does it need to be transplanted into a pot for soil cultivation?

It depends on your personal preference. If you want it to grow bigger and better, transplant it into a pot and grow it in soil, which will make it easier to fertilize and ensure its growth.

If you want to continue hydroponics, there is no problem, just pay attention to fertilization, otherwise it will grow weak and the leaves will turn yellow. Fertilization can be sprayed on the leaves or hydroponic plant nutrient solution can be used.
