Can the leaves of green radish survive if they are frozen?

Can the leaves of green radish survive if they are frozen?

1. Can I still live?

It’s not a big problem if the leaves of the green radish are frozen. Because it has tenacious vitality, even if its leaves are frozen to death, it can still grow new leaves. But frostbite on the leaves is only a superficial phenomenon. If the roots are already frozen, then it may be impossible to save the plant. It needs to be pruned and daily maintenance needs to be strengthened.

2. How to treat

1. Check the roots: The green radish itself has strong vitality, but frostbite on the roots is more harmful, so you should check the roots first. If the root frostbitten area is not large, you can cut off the bad roots and soak them in carbendazim to prevent wound infection. If the root rot is severe, there is no need to save the plant.

2. Prune branches and leaves: After checking the roots to make sure they are still alive, you need to prune the frostbitten branches and leaves. If the frostbitten area is not large, you can cut off the frozen part. If the upper part is completely withered, cut it off completely, leaving one or two buds above the root.

3. Shade growth: After frostbite, the green radish is not suitable for sunlight and needs some time to recover. You can place it in a place with good air circulation, which can reduce the possibility of bacterial growth. After new leaves grow from its buds, you can place it in a place with scattered light.

4. Water and fertilizer management: Water and fertilizer must be strictly controlled during the recovery period. At this time, the green radish does not require much water. Generally, it can be watered appropriately when the soil in the pot turns white. After recovery, you can apply less fertilizer. The fertilizer should be diluted as much as possible to avoid concentrated fertilizer damaging the roots and leaves.
