What to do with dried gardenia leaves

What to do with dried gardenia leaves

1. Improve the soil

The appearance of dry leaves may be due to a long maintenance period, which causes the pH value in the potting soil to increase, making it difficult for the plant to adapt to alkaline soil, so problems arise with the plant. When watering, you can add vinegar to make the soil acidic, or you can buy ferrous sulfate, soak it in water and water it every once in a while to improve the acidity and alkalinity.

2. Normal sunlight

Sunlight is a very important factor in growth and needs to be provided normally. Too strong sunlight or lack of light will have an impact. You can cut off the dry leaves and then supplement the sunlight normally. Pay attention to shade in summer and avoid exposure to strong light.

3. Control temperature

The plant cannot withstand low temperature during its growth, and if it suffers from light frost damage, its leaves will turn yellow. The temperature can be controlled within a suitable range and moved indoors in time in winter.

4. Adjust watering

The application of water is also very important. If there is too much water, water will accumulate in the potting soil, the roots will rot and it will be difficult to transport water and fertilizer. If there is no watering for a long time, there will be no moisture available inside. In this case, you need to find the cause and then adjust the water content accordingly.

5. Prevention and control of pests and diseases

One of the reasons is that there is no ventilation for a long time and the indoor heat leads to infection by pests and diseases. If the number is too small, they can be killed manually; if the number is too large, pesticides can be sprayed.
