How to grow a fortune tree to make it flourish?

The money tree, also known as Schefflera arborvitae or Duck's Palm Tree, is a tree with very good meaning. It can bring more good luck and wealth to the family and is also very easy to maintain. But how do you grow a money tree to make it flourish? Let’s learn more about it below.

1. Loose soil

If you want to grow a money tree lush, you must use soil that is suitable for it. The money tree does not have high requirements for the soil. It is best to choose fertile, loose, breathable and water-retaining sandy loam. You can mix river sand and nutrient soil in a 1:1 ratio. There will be no problem in growing a money tree this way.

2. Choose a flower pot

For the money tree, it is a medium to large plant, and the diameter of the selected flower pot is about 25-35 cm. The flower pot does not need to be very beautiful, but it must have good air permeability, which can better assist its growth.

3. Astigmatism

The money tree likes light and sunshine, but it is best not to place it in a place with strong light. It can be placed at the door of the house, or at the junction of the living room and the balcony. It can also be placed near a floor-to-ceiling window, in a well-ventilated and bright place with at least diffuse light. If there is no sunlight for a long time, its branches and leaves will easily grow too long and the leaf color will become light.

4. Reasonable watering

The money tree likes an environment with sufficient water, but you must not water it frequently. Excessive watering can easily cause water accumulation and root rot. Generally, water the plant when the soil is almost dry. If the air is dry, you can spray water around the plant to increase the air humidity, which will make the leaves more tender.

5. Supplement nutrients

The lush growth of the money tree is related to fertilization. Without sufficient nutrients, it will not grow lush no matter how hard you try. When fertilizing, be moderate and do not apply too much fertilizer to avoid burning the roots. The money tree is a plant that likes fertilizer very much. You can fertilize it once every 15 days. You can use decomposed liquid fertilizer or mixed flower fertilizer. Never apply too much at one time.

6. Pay attention to ventilation

If the ventilation of the money tree is poor, aphids or other pests are likely to grow on its branches. Open more windows and doors to provide ventilation, or place it next to the window or the door, which will be beneficial to its growth.

7. Regular pruning

The money tree is relatively resistant to pruning. Regularly pruning off branches that are not growing well can promote the growth of new buds. Good ventilation can improve the plant's resistance and make it less prone to disease.
