What to do if the bark of the fortune tree is rotten

What to do if the bark of the fortune tree is rotten

1. The reason why it rots

Its bark rot is mostly caused by improper watering, incorrect fertilization or improper soil management. For example, too much watering will cause water accumulation in the pot, and the roots will be soaked in water. After a long time, the roots will easily rot, and the nutrition will be hindered during transportation, causing the bark to rot due to lack of nutrition. Too much or too little fertilizer will also affect the bark. Improper soil management, using too sticky or airtight soil when raising it will affect the growth of the plant and cause it to rot.

2. Treatment methods

If the skin rot is caused by improper watering, you must water it correctly, not too much or too little, then apply fertilizer in moderation, and pay attention to the concentration of the fertilizer, try to use thin fertilizer, and finally replace the soil with loose and breathable soil. But no matter what the reason is, when you find that the bark is rotten, you should first scrape off the rotten part, and then find medicine to apply to the scraped part, once every 7 days until it returns to its original position.

3. Notes

Among all the maintenance steps, watering is the most important. If the amount of water is too little, its branches and leaves will stop growing. If the amount of water is too much, the roots and bark will rot, so watering must be moderate. You can water it at different times. For example, you can water it more in summer and reduce watering in winter. Because water evaporates very slowly, the amount of water required is very small.
