What to do if money tree is frostbitten

What to do if money tree is frostbitten

one. Causes of frostbite:

Unsuitable temperature

This plant prefers to grow in a warm climate, preferably between 20℃ and 32℃. The temperature is lower in winter. If the indoor temperature is far below 5℃, its plants will easily be damaged by frost or even die.

Too much light

If strong light shines directly on the leaves, the leaves will easily be burned. However, if you put it indoors in the winter and don't give it enough light to supply its growth needs, it will easily get frostbite.

Inappropriate water content

This plant prefers a moist but slightly dry growing environment. If it is watered too much in the winter and there is too much water in the pot, in the low temperature environment of winter, it will easily cause the plant to rot from the roots, or even the whole plant to die.

Too much fertilizer

This plant does not need to be fertilized in winter. If fertilizer is applied, it will easily damage the roots of the plant in a low temperature environment.

two. Solution:

1. Keep it indoors and keep the temperature of its growing environment between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius during the winter.

2. After placing it indoors, you need to provide it with additional sunlight to meet its photosynthesis needs.

3. Don’t water it too much. If it is kept in an environment with a temperature below 15°C for a long time, do not water or spray it. If you water or spray it in this environment, it will rot and die little by little.

4. Just don’t fertilize it in winter.

5. If its leaves seem to have been scalded by boiling water, trim off the leaves that have been frozen, then place it in a warmer environment and change its pot.

6. If the plant has rotted and fallen, pull it out of the pot and use the tip of a knife to gently scrape off the rotten roots until you can see signs of life. Put it in a sunny place for a week, then replant it in the pot, and water it after half a month.
