What to do if the leaves of Buddha's palm are rotten

What to do if the leaves of Buddha's palm are rotten

Improper watering

The first possible reason is overwatering. Especially in the summer, when the temperature is very high, it has entered a semi-dormant period. It does not need too much water and its ability to absorb water is not very strong. If you water too much at this time and the air is very humid, it will easily cause the leaves to rot.

If this is the reason, the most important thing is of course to control the amount and frequency of watering. Even if the soil in the pot seems too dry and needs watering, you cannot water too much at one time. Then the drainage of the clay pot must also be considered, so that even if you water a little more, the water can be drained out as soon as possible. In addition, ventilation and shade are also very important.

Improper fertilization

There are two reasons for this. One is that too much fertilizer rich in N is applied, which can easily cause the leaves to rot or even fall off. The second is that you are not careful when applying fertilizer, and some liquid fertilizer splashes onto the leaves, which can also cause rot.

For these two situations, the first thing is of course not to focus only on nitrogen fertilizer. Although its role in plant growth cannot be ignored, other fertilizers are also important, and attention should be paid to nutritional balance. The second is that you must be extra careful when using liquid fertilizer and pour it slowly to avoid the situation mentioned above.

Encountering disease

There is a disease called "wilt" that may also cause the leaves of the plant to rot. In this case, we must first remove the affected leaves to prevent the disease from spreading. Then use medicine, such as 500 times diluted 50% carbendazim powder.
