How to grow coral so that it will bloom out of the pot?

The stems of the coral reef overlap with each other, with slender branches and dense shrub -like clusters. From a distance, it looks like a coral cluster carved from emerald jade. The golden thorns dotted on the branches make it look like coral covered with gold, like money trees. Many people like this plant, but how do you grow the coral reef so that it will bloom beyond the pot? Let’s take a look below.

1. How to grow coral reef so that it will bloom out of the pot?

1. Lighting

Coral likes a warm environment and can be exposed to sunlight, but cannot be exposed to direct strong light. It is suitable to be cultivated in indoor balconies or sunny places near windows. Places with scattered light are suitable for the growth of coral. Coral cultivated outdoors must be shaded in summer and winter.

2. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for coral is 23℃-35℃. When the temperature is below 5℃, the plant grows slowly. It can be grown in a cool place in summer and needs to be kept in a warm place indoors in winter.

3. Potting soil

Coral plant likes loose, breathable, well-drained sandy soil. You can choose leaf mold, garden soil, and river sand, mix them evenly in a ratio of 5:3:2 as the culture soil. You can spray water to keep the soil slightly moist before potting.

4. Watering

Coral grows vigorously in spring and autumn, and enters a dormant period in summer and winter. The soil can always be kept moist in spring and autumn, and watered when it is dry and watered thoroughly. In summer and winter, you should control the amount of water, do not over-water, and avoid water accumulation, otherwise the roots of the coral plant will easily rot and die, affecting the growth of the plant.

5. Repotting

The potting soil needs to be replaced every 1-2 years of cultivation. Use a flowerpot that is slightly larger than the plant. A clay pot is best. Put some gravel at the bottom of the pot and replace it with new culture soil to promote the growth of the coral reef.

6. Fertilization

The spring is the growing season for coral reef. It can be fertilized every 15-20 days. It is best to use decomposed cake fertilizer water, and it is not advisable to apply raw fertilizer directly. In late summer and early autumn, you can apply fertilizer every 15 days, applying thin fertilizers frequently to avoid fertilizer damage.

2. Precautions for breeding of coral

1. The coral needs to be repotted once a year. During the growth period of the plant, if its stems are not big or high, you can break off some weak stems to make the coral grow larger and more beautiful stems.

2. It is better to be dry than wet. The coral plant can tolerate drought but not moisture. If the soil in the pot is too moist, it will easily lead to rot and death.

3. The coral plant cannot tolerate concentrated fertilizers and should avoid the application of chemical fertilizers, otherwise it will easily lead to root rot. During the breeding process, little or no fertilizer should be applied. In spring and late summer and early autumn, apply a thin layer of decomposed liquid fertilizer once every half a month.

4. The coral is not resistant to exposure to the sun and should be placed in bright scattered light when breeding. Pay attention to shade in summer.

5. Pay attention to insect prevention. The newly grown stems of the coral are very tender and easily attract small insects, affecting the growth of the plant. Therefore, you must pay attention to insect prevention.
