How to propagate colored calla lilies? Can they be divided by cutting bulbs?

1. Division propagation

The reproduction of colored calla lilies can be carried out by division, which is to cut the bulbs and divide the plants. The best time to do this is in spring or autumn, when the climate and temperature are more suitable, which can increase the survival rate and is easier to manage. When dividing the plants, first dig out the clustered tubers, and be careful not to damage the root system. Then cut it into two or three clusters, and make sure there are two or three buds on them. After processing, plant them separately. This way the reproduction and growth speed will be faster, and it will generally bloom in about three months of maintenance.

2. Bulb propagation

In addition to the division method, it can also be propagated by bulbs, and the survival rate is also very high. When the colored calla lily enters its dormant period, it can be divided normally and the cut small tubers can be cultivated in the open field. After one or two years of care, the required flower balls can be cultivated. It is usually done in autumn. Plant the bulbs in the soil, covering them about two or three centimeters deep. Then water them thoroughly in time, and they will soon grow into new plants.

3. Precautions for reproduction

Reproduction is mostly done by division, and the bulb method is very complicated. Be sure to control the temperature during the breeding period. The most suitable temperature is around 20 degrees. Also pay attention to watering to keep the soil moist. If the environment is too dry, spray water frequently to keep it moisturized to ensure normal growth.
