Jade butterflies are easy to raise, have strong adaptability to the environment, and usually do not cause any problems. Leaf cracking is a very common phenomenon and there are two reasons for it:

Too much watering

The jade butterfly is a desert plant with a strong root system and a strong ability to absorb water. When the plant is watered too much, the water content is high, the leaves swell, and the plant makes an immune response, causing cracks to appear on the leaves to facilitate evaporation of water.

Lack of light

Cracks on the Jade Butterfly are a sign of poor growth. Succulents are loved not only for their cute appearance, but also for the way they respond to the environment. When there is insufficient light, the jade butterfly can only reduce its own nutrient consumption in this way.

Solution

The cracking of leaves is not a big problem. In the subsequent maintenance, you need to control the water and increase the light appropriately. Usually the plant is placed on a sunny windowsill and exposed to sunlight all day.

If the cracks are severe, it is recommended to cut off the head and re-graft. Because it is difficult for the plant to return to its previous state, it is better to repot it.
