A complete guide to petunia pests and diseases

1. White mold

Symptoms: This disease mainly attacks the leaves of the plant, starting with white spots and then causing the leaves to fall off.

Prevention and control methods: Once discovered, the affected leaves should be removed immediately and sprayed with 600-800 times diluted 75% thiophanate-methyl for prevention and control.

2. Leaf spot

Symptoms: It also attacks its leaves. If the medicine is not used quickly, the plant will die if the disease becomes serious.

Prevention and control methods: Prune off the diseased leaves, gather them together and burn them, then spray with 1000 times diluted 50% mancozeb. In addition, fallen leaves should be cleaned up in time.

3. White rust

Symptoms: It will attack the leaves, petioles and stems of the plant. In the early stage of the disease, it appears as small light green spots, which then slowly turn into yellow spots, and finally form large white scars and protrusions.

Prevention and control methods: After discovery, use 1% Bordeaux mixture or 50% Phytophthora net for prevention and control, and use it consistently, once every 10-15 days. If you don't keep spraying, the effect won't be very good.

4. Aphids

Symptoms: This is the most common type of insect, which can harm the leaves and tender stems of the plant and cause great harm to the plant.

Prevention and control methods: Isolate the affected petunias and other plants, and spray them with 10% omethoate emulsion.
