Common diseases of asparagus fern and their solutions

Common diseases of asparagus fern and their solutions

1. Root rot

1. Symptoms

If the bamboo is infected with this disease, the roots will rot, its growth rate will slow down, the color of the leaves will become lighter, and the stems will not be able to stand upright well. In particularly serious cases, the entire plant will die. Generally, if its roots are injured, it will be prone to this disease. The bacteria will begin to invade from the wounds. Especially when the soil is sticky and the drainage is poor, the chance of getting the disease will greatly increase.

2. Processing

First, we need to strengthen its maintenance. When watering it, the dosage should be moderate. There should not be too much water in the pot, otherwise its roots cannot breathe normally.

Second, in severe winter, the temperature must be kept above 5 degrees, otherwise it will easily suffer from frost damage and the chance of root injury will increase.

Third, in the early stage of the disease, you can use 1500 times of Liangdun or other special medicines to treat it.

2. Branch blight

1. Symptoms

After becoming sick, its branches and leaves will fall off or die. In the early stage, filamentous spots will appear on the branches, which will gradually expand and cause the branches or leaves to fall off. The spots will then turn from brown to yellow-white. This pathogen usually starts to attack the thinner branches, usually from July to November, when the sun is stronger and the branches are more fragile.

2. Processing

First, after discovering the diseased branches, you can disinfect the wound with alcohol and then apply Vaseline on it.

Second, place it in an area with wind and light, but not too dry.

Third, you can spray it with a thousand times the concentration of Ding Rui Ke, which can effectively control the germs.

3. Yellowing disease

1. Symptoms

This disease often occurs in the process of growing this kind of bamboo. Its leaves will gradually fade and turn yellow, and will fall off if you touch them lightly with your fingers. Moreover, the lateral roots on its roots will rot easily and it will be difficult to grow new roots. If the situation is serious, the entire bamboo plant will die. This disease usually occurs because the light is too strong or too weak, improper watering, uncomposted fertilizer, lack of oxygen in the soil, etc.

2. Processing

First, wait until the soil is dry before watering. If the plant gets sick during the hot summer, you can spray it with water four or five times a day, and the symptoms will be alleviated.

Second, you can use new soil to maintain it. It must contain sufficient and balanced nutrients so that it will not turn yellow.
