How long does it take for rapeseed to germinate?

It takes seven days for rapeseed to germinate. When planting rapeseed, it is recommended to use humus soil that is rich in nutrients and has good drainage. You can also use a mixture of leaf mold, garden soil and wood ash, so that rapeseed can grow better.

Rapeseed germination time

Rapeseed will germinate around the time of planting. The specific time depends on the temperature and humidity, because rapeseed likes cold and has strong cold resistance.

According to experiments, the minimum temperature for rapeseed seeds to germinate is 4-6℃. When the temperature is 20-25℃, they will germinate in 4 days. The temperature during the flowering period is 15-19℃, and the temperature during the seedling development period is 12~15℃. The large temperature difference between day and night is more conducive to flowering and seedling development.

Management of rapeseed after emergence

1. When the rapeseed seedlings grow to 2 cm high, it is necessary to remove the shed to allow it to receive rain and dew naturally, which will facilitate later management.

2. When the rapeseed seedlings have emerged, it is necessary to apply fertilizer in time, with the amount of fertilizer applied per mu being about 750 kg, to avoid slow growth of the rapeseed seedlings in the later stage and red leaves. If the base fertilizer is sufficient and the seedlings grow vigorously, there is no need for top dressing.

3. During the rapeseed seedling period, pay attention to pest prevention. If not prevented and controlled in time, it will cause uneven seedlings, leaf damage, disease infection, poor growth, and severe cases will cause all the seeds to rot. Therefore, special attention should be paid to pests during the seedling period and prevention and control should be strengthened.
