Disease and Pest Control of Floribunda Rose

Disease and Pest Control of Floribunda Rose

1. Types of pests and diseases

1. Black spot

Black spot disease usually occurs on leaves and petioles. When the disease first occurs, dense spots will appear on the leaves, most of which are purple-brown. When the disease becomes serious, these small spots will spread into larger round black spots.

2. Powdery mildew

Powdery mildew is a disease that is not easy to see. In the early stages of the disease, some fine powdery substances will appear on both sides of young leaves. After three to five days, the leaves will gradually lose moisture and turn from fresh green to withered yellow. In severe cases, the leaves may even fall off.

3. Leaf blight

When a plant first gets leaf blight, small yellow spots will grow on the tips of the leaves. As the disease becomes more serious, they will spread into large spots. In severe cases, even two-thirds of the entire leaf may be damaged. Just like powdery mildew, it will cause the leaves to turn yellow and fall off.

4. Scarab

The scarab beetle is a kind of insect that we are all familiar with. They often feed on the newly grown leaves or buds of the floribunda rose, which will seriously hinder its growth.

5. Aphids

Aphids will suck the sap of the floribunda rose, damaging its stems and flowers, which is also harmful to the growth of the floribunda rose. Find a solution in time.

2. Prevention and treatment

1. Diseases

We must be vigilant before the disease occurs and spray some pesticides that can kill pathogens, such as Daknin, on the floribunda roses during periods of high temperature and humidity. When the floribunda rose enters its dormant period, we can thoroughly sterilize it to protect its healthy growth.

2. Pests

When the floribunda rose is invaded by beetles, we can use malathion emulsion to kill them, or we can take advantage of the beetles' phototaxis to take measures. When aphids are rampant, they need to be treated with imidacloprid.
