Disease and Pest Control of Rhododendron ovata

Disease and Pest Control of Rhododendron ovata

Leaf swell

This disease is relatively common among flowers. If the disease has not yet occurred, it is necessary to prevent it in advance. You can choose Bordeaux mixture for prevention and control when the branches are sprouting, or you can choose to spray Baume lime sulfur mixture before germination. Once the symptoms of the disease are found, you can use mancozeb for treatment, three times a month is enough.

Leaf spot

This disease is more common. When it appears, it manifests as brown spots on the leaves. In severe cases, the entire leaf may turn yellow and fall off, or even cause the death of the entire plant. Therefore, it is important to discover and deal with it as early as possible. The diseased leaves must not be left on and must be removed. If necessary, the branches can be removed together. Then spray it with special agents. In order to prevent the leaves from turning yellow, you can also add some iron elements.

aphid

This type of insect mainly attacks the stems and leaves. If there are relatively few of them, you can just flick them off, but if there are many, you have to pull out the leaves or remove the infested branches. Also, you have to properly handle the leaves that have been infested. Do not leave them directly in the pot, but take them out and bury them deeply or burn them to avoid harming other plants. The traces left by aphids can easily cause the leaves to be infected with oleander disease. At this time, not only should the diseased leaves be removed, but a certain amount of dimethoate should be sprayed on the disease. Furadan can also be placed directly in the pot. This can better prevent and control these pests that love to chew on stems and leaves.

Okay, now you know how to deal with diseases and insect pests. Let’s go save the cuckoos!
