Causes of black flower stemsIf the blackened stem is the main trunk, black rot may have occurred. This disease is mainly caused by soil compaction, excessive watering when the temperature is high, and lack of ventilation. The main symptom is that the roots of the plant become sick, the plant suddenly turns black for no reason, and gradually spreads upward. Because the stems turn black and the flower stems become soft, they do not have the strength to support the branches above, causing the branches to hang upside down and the leaves to become soft and wrinkled. Once this disease occurs, don't panic, but observe at all times. Once the disease is found, cut off the upper part 1 to 2 cm away from the blackened root, then mix thiophanate-methyl or carbendazim with water in a ratio of 1:200, prepare a solution and place the branches in it for 2 to 3 hours. Then use vermiculite or plain sand to re-graft the cuttings. If the main trunk is fine and only a few plants are turning black, you only need to cut off the black parts to avoid infecting other flower stems. PrecautionsBe careful not to give too much water. It is best to spray or sprinkle water instead, and wait until the soil is dry before watering again, because if there is too much water, the plants will easily rot. Another thing to note is that you should get sun exposure regularly, but not excessive exposure to the sun. Pay attention to ventilation and fertilize the plants appropriately. |
