What to do if black spots appear on aloe vera

What to do if black spots appear on aloe vera

1. Causes and symptoms

Aloe vera is very susceptible to black spot disease, which is caused by fungi. These black spots will gradually expand, cross-infect, and in severe cases even spread and penetrate the entire leaf. The specific symptoms are the appearance of water-soaked spots that are black with green in color, which then gradually expand into round or irregular shapes. The center of the lesion is sunken and gray-brown. The lesions may gradually penetrate both sides of the leaves but do not penetrate.

2. Solution

1. Remove diseased tissue to prevent the spread of infection.

2. Reduce humidity, especially drain water in time after rain to reduce the chance and severity of disease.

3. Spray carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl wettable powder for prevention and control.
