How to grow Schefflera in spring

How to grow Schefflera in spring

1. Temperature regulation

Schefflera is sensitive to temperature. If the temperature drops below 10 degrees, it will stop growing, and if it drops below 6 degrees, it may suffer frost damage. The temperature in early spring is relatively low, so try to avoid open-field maintenance. Open-field maintenance should be carried out after the climate stabilizes. When caring for it indoors, the temperature can be controlled at around 15 degrees. The plant should be placed away from doors and windows as it is colder near doors and windows and the plant may get frostbite easily.

2. Control Lighting

It is suitable for growing in a semi-shaded environment. If the light is too strong, Schefflera will easily be sunburned. If there is insufficient light, the plant will not metabolize normally and its growth will be affected. When giving it light in spring, you should also pay attention to the fact that the daily light time should not exceed five hours, and it is best to use diffuse light to avoid strong light.

3. Water Management

During the period of vigorous growth of Schefflera, it does not need too much water. Water once or twice a week, just enough to completely wet the soil. The watering temperature should be similar to the environment so that the plants can accept it more easily.

4. Increase nutrients

Schefflera is relatively resistant to barrenness, and even during the growing season, it is not suitable to use fertilizers with too strong effects. Generally speaking, farmyard manure, bone meal and chicken manure can meet its needs. The frequency of fertilization is once every half a month. If chemical fertilizers are used, they need to be diluted before use.
