Cornflower Pest Control

Cornflower Pest Control

Centaurea sclerotiorum

Symptoms: This disease mainly damages the base of the cornflower stem. When the temperature is high, light brown spots will appear on the cornflower stem. When it is serious, it will turn grayish white, and then part of it will rot. The stems and leaves will slowly wither and die. This disease is most likely to occur in spring and autumn under humid conditions with a temperature of about 15°C.

Prevention and control methods: Plants should not be planted too densely, and water and fertilizer management should be strengthened. If sick plants are found, they should be pulled out immediately. When the disease is serious, pesticides can be sprayed on the middle and lower parts of the plants.
