Common diseases and prevention methods of Milan flowers

Milan flower diseases: Anthracnose

symptom

Anthracnose mainly harms the leaves, petioles, twigs and stems of Milan. In the early stage of the disease, the leaf tips or edges will turn brown and gradually spread to the leaves. During the course of the disease, the leaves and petioles will gradually fall off, and eventually all the leaves of the plant will fall off, and the branches will dry up and die. In a hot and humid environment, many small orange-red black spots will grow on the leaves. These are the spores of the pathogen, which will then multiply in large numbers and spread throughout the plant.

Prevention and treatment methods

① Pay attention to maintenance, ventilate and dehumidify in time, and remove dead leaves and weeds in time to avoid the breeding of bacteria. Once diseased leaves are found, remove them immediately.

②Apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers rationally to promote healthy growth of plants and improve their disease resistance. Fertilizer can be added appropriately according to the growth conditions of the plants.

③ In the early stage of the disease, spray 80% thiophanate solution or other agents in time. Spray 3 to 5 times every 5 to 10 days.

Milan flower diseases: sooty mold

symptom

The main symptom is the appearance of black water-like spots on the leaves. As the spots spread, the plants gradually wilt. Sooty disease is usually caused by a hot and stuffy environment with poor ventilation. Of course, wounds left on leaves by scale insects and aphids may also induce sooty disease.

Prevention and treatment methods

Improve the environment, rinse the leaves and branches with water, or spray with 1000 times diluted 70% methyl thiophanate.

Milan flower diseases: yellowing disease

symptom

Milan yellowing is a very common phenomenon. Once the general leaves of the plant turn yellow, it loses its ornamental value. Especially in the rainy season between spring and summer, the lack of green in new leaves will be more obvious, which will not only cause the branches to wither, but in severe cases will also cause death of the plant.

Prevention and treatment methods

Change the soil in time and replace it with new soil before the soil becomes compacted. When encountering hot and rainy weather, especially after a long period of rain, the plants are easy to wilt, so pay attention to ventilation and dehumidification during this period.

When yellow leaves appear on the plant, remove them in time and spray with sterilizer.
