Why does Clivia bloom in spring?

Why does Clivia bloom in spring?

1. Lighting

In spring, everything seems a little damp due to the continuous rain, but this period is when all things begin to revive, and there will be non-glaring sunlight on sunny days. The light in spring is mild and does not cause strong light. This plant likes to grow in a semi-shaded environment, and the light in spring just meets its flowering needs. Under this relatively weak light, its flowering period will be extended and it is beneficial to the development of flower buds, so its flowering period can continue from winter to spring.

2. Temperature

This plant needs a suitable temperature for its flowers to bloom. If the temperature is too high, its root hairs cannot exist for a long time, and its ability to absorb water and fertilizer will be weakened. The period of nurturing flower buds requires a large amount of nutrients. At the same time, if the temperature is too low, its growth will be inhibited. If the temperature is properly controlled, its root hairs will exist for a long time, and its ability to absorb nutrients will naturally increase, which can also meet the needs of flowering. The temperature during its flowering period needs to be maintained at 15 to 20 degrees. Spring has just passed the cold winter, everything begins to warm up, and the temperature is just right for it to bloom.

3. Moisture

Since this plant needs a lot of water after entering the flowering period, and the humidity cannot be lower than 60%, and spring happens to be the time when drizzle falls most frequently, the humidity can be well maintained at a relatively high level without our artificial control. Therefore, this humid environment can meet its water requirements during the flowering period.
