When growing succulents in April, what is more terrifying than scale insects is actually these!

When growing succulents in April, what is more terrifying than scale insects is actually these!

Scale insects

Scale insects are very common pests in spring. They lurk on the back of succulent leaves and at the roots, constantly sucking nutrients from the succulents. Flower lovers must take timely measures to prevent and control it, otherwise it will become a disaster and eventually spread to all succulents, killing them all!

1. How to kill scale insects?

If there are relatively few scale insects, you can kill them with a needle, then wipe the front and back of the leaves with a cotton swab dipped in medical alcohol, and place them in a ventilated place.

If there are a lot of scale insects, dilute the Flower Protector 200 times and spray them directly.

2. How to prevent scale insects?

If the succulent has a strong root system, you can bury a small spoonful of purple medicine, also called Furadan, shallowly away from the roots of the succulent. In this way, the succulent will absorb the medicine, and once scale insects come to eat it, it will die immediately. Do not touch the medicine directly with your hands. If you do touch it, wash your hands immediately.

powdery mildew

Powdery mildew is caused by fungal infection. As long as one succulent plant is infected with powdery mildew, it will quickly spread to neighboring succulents, causing gray spots to appear on the leaves, making them dry and ugly. Many flower lovers say that powdery mildew is 10 times more terrible than scale insects!

1. How to treat powdery mildew?

Once powdery mildew is found, it should be separated from healthy succulents in time, then sprayed with powdered rust-eliminating agent and placed in a ventilated place. Even if powdery mildew is cured, the scars that have already formed on the leaves will not disappear. Therefore, it is important to know how to prevent it!

2. How to prevent powdery mildew?

When succulents get powdery mildew, most of the time it’s due to improper care that causes the succulents to be infected with bacteria. Come and see if you have made the following maintenance mistakes!

Mistake 1: Watering the Leaves

Some flower lovers are busy during the day and only have time to water their succulents after returning home at night. They also water the leaves. The temperature is low at night and the evaporation is slow. If this goes on for a long time, the succulents are likely to get powdery mildew. Water the roots and try not to get the leaves wet.

Mistake 2: Poor ventilation

Usually, you should place the succulents in a well-ventilated place to let them breathe fresh air and prevent them from being infected by germs in the polluted air.

aphid

Aphids lie on the tender stems and leaves of succulents and suck the nutrients of the succulents. Aphids reproduce very quickly. If you don’t kill them in time, I’m afraid all the flowers you grow will be destroyed by aphids!

1. How to kill aphids?

Method 1: Pepper spray

Cut the peppers into small pieces and soak them in cold water for three or four hours. Put 8-10 peppers in 500 ml of water. Spray them to kill aphids first. Finally, you can pour the peppers directly into the pot. The aphids will definitely die!

Method 2: Buy neem oil

Go to the flower market to buy neem oil. A small bottle can be used for a long time. It can effectively kill aphids on the leaves and in the soil! Dilute according to the instructions and spray it on the leaves or pour it into the soil, and all the aphids will die!

2. How to prevent aphids?

It is best to isolate the succulents you just bought for a few days. If no diseases or pests are found, put them together with other flowers in a well-ventilated place.

Check the leaves regularly for aphids and spray some chili water or neem oil regularly to effectively prevent aphids.

In April, I raised meat.

Be sure to do a good job of pest control!

Try Huahua’s method now!

I think it is useful.

Just share it with others!
