What fertilizer is best for honeysuckle (what fertilizer can make honeysuckle grow fastest and produce the highest yield)

What fertilizer does honeysuckle like?

Since honeysuckle is a fertilizer-loving crop, it needs to be fertilized several times a year, and the timing of fertilization should be well controlled. Generally , it is fertilized once immediately after the last batch of flowers are picked, mainly organic fertilizer, supplemented with phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, to improve the ability to resist cold in winter.

The first topdressing should be carried out after budding in early spring, mainly organic fertilizer, supplemented with compound fertilizer , to promote the growth of new shoots and leaf development. The second topdressing should be carried out after the first flower picking, supplemented with nitrogen fertilizer and phosphorus fertilizer to promote flower bud differentiation.

① Bud fertilizer

After the beginning of spring and before Qingming, that is, early spring. Fertilization depends on the size of the flower mound. Too much fertilizer will be a waste, and too little fertilizer will not achieve the desired effect.

Generally, for large flower mounds over 5 years old, 1-2 cubic meters of fully decomposed farmyard manure, or 200-250 kg of organic fertilizer, 30-40 kg of high-nitrogen, medium-phosphorus, and medium-potassium compound fertilizer, and 4-8 kg of compound microbial fertilizer are applied per mu. For those under 5 years old, the amount can be reduced accordingly.

② Topdressing after picking flowers

After each crop of flowers is harvested, appropriate topdressing should be applied. After the first crop of flowers, 15-20 kg of high-nitrogen, low-phosphorus and medium-potassium compound fertilizer should be applied per mu. Dig shallow trenches and spread it next to the plants and then cover with soil.

After each harvest, topdressing should be done, and the amount of fertilizer applied can be slightly less than that of the first crop. Topdressing should be combined with watering to give full play to the fertilizer effect.

In addition, if the flower stump grows too vigorously and the soil is fertile, no topdressing is required to avoid causing the plant to grow too tall and affect the differentiation of flower buds, resulting in a decrease in yield.

③ Foliar fertilizer

In addition to normal fertilization, we can spray honeysuckle with foliar fertilizer once every 10 days or so . The foliar fertilizer sprayed is mainly potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution . By spraying foliar fertilizer, the leaves of honeysuckle can be made bright and green, and the photosynthesis of the leaves can be promoted.

How to fertilize honeysuckle to increase yield

① Compost

When growing honeysuckle, you can use compost or farmyard manure when fertilizing, but be careful to use it only after it is fully decomposed.

② Fertilization in spring and summer

When caring for it in spring and summer, you can apply nitrogen fertilizer or farmyard manure to make it grow stronger. You need to water it once after fertilizing.

③ Autumn fertilization

The time for fertilization is from the end of September to the beginning of October, mainly organic fertilizer, about 2 cubic meters of fully decomposed organic fertilizer and 30-40 kilograms of general compound fertilizer are applied per mu.

③ Winter fertilization

In winter, apply compost or well-rotted manure. No matter what stage of growth you apply fertilizer, don't apply heavy fertilizer.
