What to do if the roots of pennywort rot

What to do if the roots of pennywort rot

1. Mild root rot

Soil that is too moist is more likely to cause root rot. Too much watering on a regular basis, or failure to provide timely rain protection or drainage during the rainy season, causing water to accumulate in the soil, can all lead to root rot. In addition, improper fertilization can also lead to root rot. If the root rot is not serious, try to save it first:

Take the petals from the potting soil, clean the soil around the roots, then prepare a pair of sterilized scissors, cut off the rotten roots, disinfect the roots with potassium permanganate, plant it in clean and loose soil, and new roots will grow after a while.

2. Severe root rot

If a large number of roots have rotted, the situation is serious and can only be replanted:

1. First, you need to cut off its branches, there is no limit to the length, then remove all the leaves on the lower part of the branches used for re-planting, leaving only 2-3 leaves on the top, and then put it in a ventilated place to dry for 1-2 days to prevent it from rotting again after planting.

2. Insert the dried branches into suitable soil and place them in a cool and ventilated place. You can also directly treat them as healthy petals. After a few days, its leaves will recover and roots will soon grow. Do not overwater it. You can expose it to more sunlight.
