How to plant lotus seeds

How to plant lotus seeds

1. Seed treatment

Because the shell of water lily seeds is relatively hard, the seeds must be processed before sowing. Its seeds have a small convex tip on one end and a round tip on the other. Grind the round end on the rough cement floor or use a file to make a small hole in it.

2. Seed Soaking and Germination

Soak the processed seeds in warm water and place them in a warm place. They will start to germinate after about 3 days. After about 5 days, the sprouts will be 1 cm long. After another 5 days, the sprouts will grow very long and can be transplanted at this time.

3. Transplanting seedlings

Choose a non-porous ceramic pot or fish tank, pour half of the garden soil or uncontaminated river pond mud into the container, soak it in water in advance, and do not add fertilizer. When transplanting, press the roots of the seedlings into the soil, then add an appropriate amount of water, just make sure the water does not cover its leaves.
