How to deal with gardenia root rot

How to deal with gardenia root rot

one. Cleaning

First, take the whole plant out of the pot and clean off the soil attached to the roots.

two. Prune

Take a pair of sharp scissors and carefully check the roots of the plant to see which parts have rotted, then use the scissors to cut off the rotten roots.

three. disinfect

Prepare a basin of solution made of diluted polychlorinated fungus solution or diluted potassium permanganate solution. Soak the plants with rotten roots cut off in the solution for more than an hour.

Four. Dry in the shade

Remove the plant from the solution, find a cool place, and carefully place the plant there for about a day to wait for it to dry naturally.

five. Pot soil

You need to prepare another pot of soil that is conducive to its continued growth and development. So how should this soil be prepared? We can choose to use leaf mold, sandy loam and river sand, and mix them together in a ratio of 2:2:1; or we can mix leaf mold, peat soil and half garden soil together; if we really can't find these soil materials or are too lazy to prepare them, we can directly buy Clivia cultivation soil in the flower market.

six. Basin

First, lay a layer of water-permeable material at the bottom of the flowerpot, such as expanded clay, brick particles, or coal slag. Then fill it with nutrient soil, and finally replant the plant in it, cover it with a layer of mud, and water the mud thoroughly.

seven. Maintenance

At this time, you can place the flower pot on the north balcony for maintenance. Do not expose it to direct sunlight. Wait until the plant has adapted before moving it. Move over.
