Why are the leaves of the pink palm turning yellow? What should I do?

Why are the leaves of the pink palm turning yellow? What should I do?

1. Improper watering

Cause: If the young leaves of the pink anthurium turn yellow first, and the old leaves also slowly turn yellow later, this situation is mostly caused by too much watering. The soil is too moist due to the large amount of water, and there may even be water accumulation, which hinders the breathing of the root system. Over time, the roots will rot and the plant will begin to turn yellow.

Solution: If you water too much, you need to reduce the amount of water. No water should be accumulated at any growth stage. At this time, you should loosen the soil frequently to allow the soil to breathe. Also provide more ventilation to accelerate the evaporation of moisture. If the situation is more serious, it is best to remove the plant from the pot and change the soil. In addition, when watering in the later stage, you can wait until the soil is dry and water it thoroughly.

2. Improper lighting

Reason: It is shade-tolerant, but needs a certain amount of light to grow. If it is placed in a cool place for a long time, it will not be able to carry out photosynthesis, and it will lack green and have yellow leaves. It should also not be exposed to direct sunlight. If it is placed under strong light during the scorching sun in summer, it will be sunburned and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: If there is a lack of light, it is best to move it to a place with diffuse light as soon as possible, let it get more sun, and it will recover soon. If you get sunburned by strong sunlight, move it away as soon as possible to a cool place. Also, ventilate it more and water it frequently, and it will slowly recover.

3. Unsuitable soil

Reason: If its leaves are thin and yellow, it is mostly caused by lack of nutrients in the soil due to not changing the pot for a long time or the size of the pot is not suitable. The growth of the plant will be hindered in such a soil environment, resulting in yellow leaves.

Solution: Choose a flowerpot of appropriate size to replace the plant, and ensure that the soil has sufficient nutrients. It is best to repot the plant every one or two years. In addition, during the peak growing season, you should apply fertilizer frequently so that the plants will grow more vigorously.
