What to do if the leaves of copper coin grass turn yellow in winter

What to do if the leaves of copper coin grass turn yellow in winter

1. Increase lighting

Reason: The growth of pennywort cannot be separated from sufficient sunlight. The sunlight intensity is low in winter, and the light requirement is stronger at this time. If there is insufficient light in the growth environment, it may cause the plant to grow poorly and cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Keep the pennywort in a place with good lighting. It can be placed in a living room with bright light, or on a balcony. After sufficient exposure to sunlight, the color of the leaves will gradually turn green.

2. Reasonable water change

Reason: Although the temperature is relatively low in winter and the possibility of bacteria breeding is small, if the water is not changed for a long time, the water will become turbid, affecting the roots and causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Observe the water quality and change the water every half a month. The changed water should be aired in advance and the water temperature should not be too low.

3. Adjust the temperature

Reason: If the temperature in the maintenance environment is low and remains below 5 degrees Celsius for a long time, the plant will be frostbitten and cause yellow leaves to appear.

Solution: It needs to be moved indoors in time in winter and the temperature should be kept above 10 degrees Celsius, but it cannot be directly facing the heating equipment, otherwise it will cause yellow leaves.

4. Correct fertilization

Cause: Failure to pay attention to growth in winter, long-term lack of fertilizer or excessive fertilizer application will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Cut off the yellow leaves, then apply fertilizer according to the growth. If too much fertilizer is applied, pour it out and replace the water.
