Why are the leaves of the lotus turning yellow?

Why are the leaves of the lotus turning yellow?

1. Lack of water

Astragalus is an aquatic plant that cannot live without water. If it lacks water during its growth period, its leaves will turn yellow. It should be watered in time. No matter which growth stage it is in, the soil should be kept moist. You can pour clean water into the potting soil as soon as possible, so that the leaves will soon regain their color.

2. Lack of nutrients

A large part of the reason why its leaves turn yellow is due to lack of nutrients. During the growth period, more nutrients are consumed, so fertilizer must be added in time. If no fertilizer is applied for a long time, the roots will not absorb the necessary nutrients and cannot provide them to the leaves, which will slowly turn yellow. Compound fertilizer liquid should be applied once a month during the peak growing season, or decomposed rice water can also meet the needs.

3. Lack of light

Its growth cannot be separated from light. If it is placed in a dark place for a long time, the leaves cannot carry out photosynthesis and will slowly turn yellow over time. Move it to a place with scattered light, and provide timely shading when the temperature is high. It is recommended to place it outdoors in a place with scattered light and good ventilation, which will be more conducive to its recovery.

4. Infections and diseases

If the environment provided during management is not suitable, such as poor ventilation, lack of light, etc., it is easy to be infected with chlorosis and the leaves will turn yellow. It is necessary to change the maintenance methods in time, provide more ventilation and strengthen management. The diseased leaves should be removed as soon as possible and sprayed with pesticides to prevent and control the disease.
