Lithops , also known as stone flower, is a small succulent plant with a unique shape. They are round and transparent, with a strange appearance, resembling pebbles in nature. Lithops have various colors. When they bloom, it looks like colorful flowers blooming on the stone, giving people a novel and beautiful visual enjoyment. Therefore, they are known as the "gem of life". So how do you grow Lithops to make it overflow the pot? 1. Lighting requirements Lithops prefer plenty of sunlight, so when caring for it at home, it is recommended to place it on a south-facing balcony or windowsill during the growing season. In spring and autumn, Lithops are suitable for half-day sunlight, which is conducive to photosynthesis and healthy growth of plants. In summer, shade measures need to be taken to avoid damage caused by strong direct sunlight. Full sun is available in winter. 2. Temperature management Lithops grows best in a warm environment, with the optimal growth temperature range being 20 to 24 degrees Celsius. Pay attention to cooling down in summer and keep warm in winter to prevent cold damage. The indoor temperature should not be lower than 13 degrees Celsius. If the room temperature is maintained at around 9 degrees Celsius, the water supply needs to be strictly controlled to enhance the plant's cold resistance. 3. Water supply The water requirement of stone flower is not high, but it still needs to be watered moderately during the growth period. Avoid overwatering and keep the soil in the pot slightly moist to ensure that the roots can absorb the necessary water. Under well-ventilated conditions, the frequency of watering can be reduced in summer and watering can be done directly. 4. Fertilization techniques Lithops are not very dependent on fertilizer , but applying liquid fertilizer in moderation during the growth period can help maintain its normal growth. Since Lithops has a low preference for nitrogen fertilizer, it is recommended to choose fertilizers with higher phosphorus and potassium content to promote plant health. 5. Cultivation environment The environment for growing lithops should be kept mild, avoiding extreme high or low temperatures. A large temperature difference between day and night is conducive to the growth of Lithops. At the same time, sufficient light must be ensured, but direct exposure to strong sunlight in summer must be avoided. Some enthusiasts suggest that the daily lighting time should be controlled at around 8 hours. As for reproduction, Lithops are mainly propagated through two methods: sowing and division. Seed propagation is usually carried out in spring. It has a faster rooting and germination speed and a higher survival rate. It is the main method of Lithops propagation. In comparison, propagation by division is more difficult and requires more attention and careful management.
