How to make Chlorophytum comosum bloom and how to propagate it by cuttings

1. How to make the pot explode

1. Soil: If you want the Chlorophytum comosum to bloom, you must first choose good soil. It is particularly important to have a good growing environment. Usually special culture soil is used for cultivation, or a mixture of garden soil, humus soil and river sand can be used to ensure good drainage and air permeability. To prevent the soil from becoming compacted, repot the plants every spring.

2. Light: Chlorophytum comosum likes to grow in places with soft light. If the light is too strong, the leaves will easily dry out. Usually it should be kept in semi-shade and allowed to receive scattered light. In summer, be sure to pay attention to shade and avoid long-term exposure to the sun. In winter, it should be placed in a sunny place so that it can better survive the winter.

3. Temperature: Chlorophytum comosum is suitable for development in a warm environment. Too high or too low temperature will affect its growth. If you want it to bloom, you must let it grow for as long as possible. If the temperature exceeds 30℃ in summer, you need to spray water to cool it down. If the temperature is below 8℃ in winter, you need to take anti-cold measures to prevent it from freezing.

4. Water and fertilizer: The growth of any plant cannot be separated from sufficient water and nutrients, and Chlorophytum comosum is no exception. Water it appropriately at normal times, don't water it too much, just keep the soil moist. In addition, you can apply some thin liquid fertilizer during the growing period. Do not use concentrated fertilizer or raw fertilizer, otherwise it will damage the root system of the plant.

2. How to take cuttings

The cuttings of Chlorophytum comosum can be carried out in spring, summer and autumn, usually on rainy days. Select healthy plants that are free of pests and diseases, cut a thick branch about 12 cm in length, and place it in a cool place to air dry. After drying, you can apply a little rooting powder on the bottom, then insert it into the substrate, water it appropriately and wait for rooting.
