Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of azalea

Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of azalea

1. Soil is too alkaline

1. Reason: Azalea is a flower that likes slightly acidic soil. If it is usually grown in soil that is too alkaline, it will not be able to adapt, will not be able to grow normally, and will have yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: If convenient, it is recommended to change the soil for the plant and use slightly acidic new soil as its new culture soil. This is good for its growth. If it is not convenient to change the soil, you can also acidify the culture soil by watering it with ferrous sulfate solution every month.

2. Too much light

1. Reason: It likes sufficient but not too strong sunlight. If the light in the environment where it is grown is very strong and its leaves are sunburned, it may cause yellow leaves to appear.

2. Treatment method: Move the plant to a shaded place with proper ventilation, and cut off the leaves that have turned yellow. After a period of time, it will be able to grow new leaves.

3. Excessive watering

1. Reason: Although it is suitable for growing in slightly moist soil, it is not very resistant to waterlogging. If you water it too much, causing too much water to accumulate in the soil, it may damage its roots and cause its leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: At this time, take it out of the original flowerpot and cut off the rotten roots. Then place it in a well-ventilated place to dry, and then plant it in new soil for maintenance.
