How to deal with the flowering of Olivia succulent

1. Cut it off in advance

Olivia's flowering will consume certain nutrients, causing the leaves to dry up and fall off, affecting its appearance. If you want to avoid nutrient waste, you can prune it in advance and cut off the flower stems to prevent the plant from flowering. Usually, pruning the plant early when it is still small can promote its growth and make it grow up faster.

2. Pruning after flowering

If you want to see Olivia in bloom, or want to collect seeds after it blooms, you can prune it when the flowers fade. Cut off the dead flowers in time to avoid nutrient waste and allow the plant to resume growth faster. If not pruned, the spent flowers will continue to consume nutrients, causing the bottom leaves to dry out.

3. Post-flowering care

1. Light: After Olivia blooms, in order to make it recover faster, daily light needs to be increased. This is helpful for the growth of the plant and can also promote photosynthesis, so that it can produce nutrients by itself and make up for previous consumption.

2. Temperature: Olivia likes a cool climate. If you want it to resume growth quickly, you must ensure that the temperature is suitable. The temperature is better between 10-20℃. If the temperature is lower, you need to move it to a warm place or cover it with plastic tape to keep it warm.

3. Fertilization: If you want to supplement nutrients, the easiest way is to fertilize. But as a succulent plant, Olivia does not have a high demand for fertilizer, so the amount of fertilizer needs to be controlled. Do not apply too much, otherwise it will be very troublesome.
