What to do if the leaves of indoor green radish turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of indoor green radish turn yellow

1. Increase lighting

Reason: Although the green radish likes shade, it is not good to be without light for a long time. If the indoor light is weak, it will grow poorly and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Move the green radish to a balcony or sunny windowsill. Allow it to be exposed to diffuse light, but not for too long. It is generally better to receive light in the morning and evening. The sunlight is too strong at noon and can easily burn the leaves.

2. Spray water frequently

Reason: It is not advisable to water the green radish too much, but you need to spray water on the leaves and stems from time to time, otherwise the leaves will easily turn yellow.

Solution: Fill the sprayer with clean water and spray its leaves and rhizomes 2-3 times a day. If the temperature is high, the number of water sprays should be increased appropriately. In addition, you can also pour a little water into the tray of the flower pot, which can also increase the humidity when evaporating.

3. Air circulation

Reason: If you don’t open the windows indoors, it will easily lead to poor air circulation. Especially in hot seasons, if you place the green radish in a closed room, its leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Move the green radish to a well-ventilated place, such as a balcony or windowsill, and open the windows moderately for ventilation. If the air outside is cold, put a plastic bag on the top of the plant before opening the window and poke a few holes in the bag to keep it warm and allow air to flow.

4. Control the amount of fertilizer

Reason: The demand for fertilizer of the green radish is not large. If concentrated fertilizer is applied for a long time, it can easily cause root burns, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Remove the green radish from the potting soil, clean the roots, and replant it with new sterilized soil. If excessive fertilization causes root rot, the rotten roots will need to be cut off.
