What to do if the leaves turn yellow in summer

What to do if the leaves turn yellow in summer

1. Increase humidity

Reason: The outdoor sunlight in summer is very strong, so people grow flowers indoors. There are air conditioners and electric fans indoors, which will lead to a drier climate, causing the leaves of flowers to turn yellow.

Treatment method: You can use a household humidifier to increase the humidity, or you can sprinkle water on the plants and around them to increase the humidity. Lazy people can just put a basin of water next to the plant.

2. Watering in moderation

Reason: Generally speaking, if the leaves of flowers turn yellow in summer, it is likely that they are watered too much. Many flower lovers know that water evaporates quickly at this time, so they will water the plants in large quantities. If the plants cannot absorb the water, their roots will rot and their leaves will turn yellow.

Treatment method: Check the water in the flowerpot, pour out any excess water, and then place it in a ventilated place to allow the moisture in the soil to evaporate. Note that you must control the amount of water when watering later.

3. Stop fertilizing

Reason: Most plants grow slower in the summer and do not need too much nutrients at this time. If you apply fertilizer normally in summer, it will easily cause fertilizer damage. After the root system rots, the flowers will show yellow leaves.

Treatment method: Water more often to drain the remaining fertilizer from the potting soil, then reduce fertilization or directly stop fertilizing, and continue fertilizing after the plant resumes growth.
