Why do gardenias have yellow leaves? Caused by improper watering, fertilization, and lighting

1. Improper watering

Cause: If you water the gardenia too much or too little, the leaves may turn yellow. If there is too much water, the roots of the plant will be in water for a long time, and the roots cannot breathe, which will directly affect the growth of the leaves. If there is a lack of water for a long time, the roots will not be able to supply water to the leaves, and they will turn yellow.

Solution: If you water too much, loosen the soil in the pot and place it on a well-ventilated balcony to allow excess water to evaporate as quickly as possible. If it is short of water, water it in time, and the soil in the pot should not be too dry. In addition, yellow leaves should be removed in time.

2. Too much fertilizer

Reason: Appropriate amount of fertilization helps the plant grow. Excessive fertilization is likely to burn the roots of the plant. The root system cannot grow normally, which will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Water quickly so that the nutrients in the soil can be discharged along with the water. Or you can replace the soil with new one, clean up the old soil and replant it.

3. Too much light

Reason: It cannot be exposed to too strong sunlight. If it is kept in the sun normally in the summer, the plant will be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time and the leaves will turn yellow over time.

Solution: Immediately move the potted plant to a cool environment, or build a sunshade for it so that it can see the sun in the morning and afternoon, but be sure to provide shade at noon.
