If the leaves of the lucky tree are turning yellow and falling off, water it with this water in summer and it will turn green in 3 days!

Yellow and falling leaves of the lucky tree

1. Too much watering causes leaves to rot and fall off

The lucky tree likes a relatively humid environment, but if it is watered too much, or the soil in the pot is compacted and water cannot penetrate, the roots and leaves will easily rot.

Solution: Control watering. Check whether the soil in the pot is dry before watering. If the money tree is already flooded, it is best to remove it from the pot and let it air dry for a day, then put it back in the pot. If the soil in the pot is very compacted, you can use a bamboo stick to poke some holes along the edge of the pot and then change the soil when the weather gets cooler.

2. Insufficient watering causes the plant to dry up and fall leaves

The evaporation rate is high in summer. If you don’t pay attention to watering it for three to five days, the happiness tree will wilt and its leaves will fall off. Observe the fallen leaves and see if they are dry.

Solution: Water it thoroughly as soon as possible. Most flower pots have holes at the bottom. Water it thoroughly until you see water flowing out of the small holes. After watering, wait for half a day to see if the plant recovers.

If the situation is serious and most of the leaves have dried up and fallen off, it is best to prune the lucky tree, soak the flowerpot in a basin of water for 20 minutes, and then place it in a cool and ventilated place for 3-5 days. If new buds appear, it means it is alive.

3. The weather is too hot

The lucky tree will easily wilt once the temperature exceeds 32 degrees. That is a distress signal, so you have to pay attention to it.

Solution: "Take off your clothes" and trim the lucky tree to allow it to dissipate heat better. Don't be reluctant. The more you trim the lucky tree, the faster it grows. It will return to its original appearance in one month after pruning. Try it if you don't believe me!

4. Exposure to sunlight or lack of sunlight

The light in summer is quite strong, so many flower lovers like to place the lucky tree near the glass windows on the balcony. If the sunlight is strong in this location, it would be like grilling the lucky tree. On the contrary, if you move the lucky tree to a dark corner in the house, where the light and ventilation are poor, its leaves will easily turn yellow and fall off.

Solution: Move it to a room with balanced lighting, preferably a semi-shaded place. Huahua recommends placing it on the north side of the sofa in the living room. If the temperature at home is still too high, or the air conditioner is on, you can spray water around the leaves of the lucky tree, which can both cool down and increase the humidity.

5. Pests and diseases

Scale insects and aphids are the natural enemies of the lucky tree. Once these small insects infect the plant, they are difficult to completely eliminate and will always recur.

Solution: Flower lovers who have professional insecticides at home can spray some Aphidicide, zinc phosphate, and Aphidicide. It is best to spray after 3 pm, move the lucky tree outdoors, wear a mask, and spray the medicine on both sides of the leaves.

Huahua also has some homemade insecticides here. Put pure milk in a small spray bottle and spray it on the leaves with insects. After 2 hours, wipe them with clean water. Alcohol wiping can also kill insects. Mix laundry detergent with hot water, let it cool, and spray it on the insected leaves. After 1 hour, wipe them clean.

Raise it this way, and the lucky tree will be green and strong

1. Sufficient light, water control and ventilation

The lucky tree cannot be grown in the shade, it must be placed in a bright location, and you don’t need to water it too frequently. Water it thoroughly only when the soil in the pot is dry. This will stimulate the lucky tree to keep growing new leaves.

2. Proper pruning

The lucky tree can easily grow too tall. If the new branches of your lucky tree are very long, it is undoubtedly growing too tall. Quickly trim half of them to make it grow into a ball shape.

3. Fertilizer, foliar fertilizer

The leaves of the lucky tree are the highlight. Air-conditioning condensate and fish tank water can be used as fertilizer. You can also spray some beer water (beer after ventilation is mixed with water = 1:20) to make the leaves green and bright and keep growing wildly.
