How to remedy the yellowing of cycad leaves

1. Acidic solution

Reason: Cycas revoluta needs a slightly acidic environment to grow. If the soil is alkaline, the leaves of the plant will turn yellow.

Solution: You can choose weak acidic substances such as 500 times ferrous sulfate aqueous solution for watering and spraying once a week. After watering several times, you can gradually see the results.

2. Adequate lighting

Reason: Insufficient light will lead to insufficient nutrition during the growth period, causing the leaves to shrink and turn yellow.

Solution: When there is sufficient sunlight, expose the plant to scattered light and do not grow it in semi-shade or full shade all the time.

3. Water appropriately

Reason: Too much or insufficient watering may cause yellowing of leaves. If you water too much, the roots will lack oxygen and rot, and poor growth will cause rigidity and yellowing. If you water too little, the plant will turn yellow from bottom to top, from old to new leaves due to lack of water.

Solution: Control the amount of watering. In summer, water should be applied once in the morning and evening, and in winter, water should be applied once every 10 days.

4. Scientific fertilization

Cause: Too much or too little fertilization may cause yellowing of leaves.

Solution: When applying fertilizer, the concentration should be lower, and thin fertilizers should be applied frequently. If the concentration is too high or fertilization is applied too frequently, fertilizer control and watering should be carried out in time. If fertilization is applied less frequently and the young leaves begin to turn yellow, attention should be paid to additional fertilizer, but do not apply concentrated fertilizer.

5. Prevent and control pests and diseases

Cause: Pests and diseases such as red spider mites, scale insects, yellow spots and yellow dots on leaves can also cause the leaves of the plant to turn yellow.
