Do sunflowers like water? Do sunflowers like sunlight?

1. Do you like water?

It is drought-resistant, but it consumes a lot of water during its growth period, so it can be considered water-loving. But pay attention to the amount of water each time. Do not let water accumulate in the soil for a long time, otherwise it will hinder growth.

The specific frequency and amount should be based on the season. If it is in the spring seedling growth stage, water it every two or three days. During the high temperature period in summer, water is lost quickly, and it is also the peak flowering period, so the amount of water needed is large, so you need to increase the frequency of watering and water it every day. The climate is dry in autumn, with rain falling once every one or two days. It almost stops growing in winter, so you need to control the water content and don’t water it unless the soil is dry.

2. Do you like sunshine?

It loves light very much and will only bloom in an environment with sufficient light, hence its name. When maintaining it, place it in a sunny place and expose it to the sun all day. If it is placed in a cool place or encounters rainy weather and lacks light, it will not bloom. It is also easy for branches and leaves to grow too long, affecting growth. The light in the afternoon is strong in the summer, and this is also the time when flowers bloom best and most vigorously, so they are called noon flowers.

3. Notes

During the cultivation period, water and light determine the growth. However, if you want it to grow more vigorously, you must also pay attention to fertilization. The demand for phosphorus fertilizer is high during the growing season, and additional fertilizer should be added after germination. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be used as fertilizer. It is best to dilute it each time you apply it to avoid excessive concentration. Fertilize once every half a month so that the plant has sufficient nutrients, will naturally grow vigorously and extend the flowering period.
